We are currently reclaiming all of the lumber from this amazing deconstruction and renovation of a Church in Chicago that was built in 1905. It is located at 914 N Hoyne in Chicago and is the home of a former Church and school that was built 113 years ago. The lumber inside is at least twice as old!
One of the most exciting and gratifying parts about salvaging material from historic buildings is getting to see the building still standing in its present state before the wood comes out, where we also have access to capture photography. In many cases with historic buildings the wood is salvaged from the interior and the original structure is restored and kept in tact to be converted for other purposes such as condos which is the case with this church and school.
