We created this video to give a glimpse into sustainability in action...from salvaging century-old White Oak in the midwest, and turning it into custom wood tables at our shop in Chicago to seeing the finished product in use at the clients beautiful office in Santa Monica, California.
Several times in the last couple of months I have been fortunate enough to travel to a few of our recent client's office spaces and receive feedback about why they chose us to make their reclaimed wood furniture. During this particular visit, I arranged to the client's office in Santa Monica, it was very rewarding to hear from the COO of an incredible woman-owned company, whose products I use daily, that they chose us specifically because our sustainability goals were in sync with theirs.
The furniture we create matches up with the client's environmental initiatives as a “certified Benefit corporation” better known as a “B corp”. B Corps form a community of leaders and drive a global movement of people using business as a force for good.
Clients often request customizations such as special finishes, table edges, or power data hubs built into the tops of their tables. We create finish samples and drawings based on their specifications and help them find the correct power hubs and design based on their needs. It's always exciting to see the project come full circle from the salvage and deconstruction process to the shop and then finally set up in its new home.
