At Urban Wood Goods we have a unique offering of lumber species. We exclusively use reclaimed wood in the creation of all furniture products as it supports our sustainability initiatives and ideals. We utilize a variety of lumber species as far as wood top selection. Our standard is century old Douglas Fir/Pine. Recently we have added reclaimed hardwoods including a mixed species hardwood variety, White Oak and Walnut.

The images shown in our gallery and the wood included in our sample finish packs may vary slightly depending on the original tones & patina of the wood. Our solid wood tops are made with century old salvaged reclaimed Douglas Fir and Heart Pine planks and joists that have been deconstructed from warehouses, barns and homes throughout the midwest. We also offer on a limited basis, a mixed species hardwood option and when in stock and available, a salvaged old growth White Oak. It is ideal for outdoor furniture use. Inquire for availability.

Due to the nature of reclaimed wood, knots, nail and worm holes, varied grain patterns, finish variances (including those within a single piece or between two or more pieces) and other natural characteristics are to be expected. They add character to the pieces. Additionally, all holes and cracks are plugged and filled with the exception of hairline cracks or checking in the wood. We do this to preserve the integrity and aesthetic of the reclaimed wood while at the same time offering the most practical and functional surface for everyday use. Actual wood samples, website images, and print brochure photos will vary slightly from the actual finish that is received due to the unique nature of our wood finishes.
