It is important to note that the wood we source is reclaimed natural material that has often been aging for a century or more. It varies in texture, color, and grain pattern, even within wood of the same species. Reclaimed wood characteristics often include old nail and bolt holes (which we plug and fill but aesthetically are still present), seasoning checks (small hairline cracks in the wood), weathered patina and other elements. Urban Wood Goods as a business exists to celebrate this character which is a testament to the woods’ past heritage.
