Eco-Chic Valentine's Day Table Styling: Reuse, Recycle, and Celebrate Love

Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to gather your loved ones around the table for a special meal and create memories that will last a lifetime. This year, why not add a touch of eco-friendliness to your celebration by opting for an environmentally conscious approach to table styling?  It also happens to be budget friendly!

Establish your color scheme: The traditional colors for Valentine's Day are pink, red, and white, but don't be afraid to mix it up with complementary shades.

Look through what you already own: Take a look at cloth napkins, colored plates, and other décor items that you already own to see what can be incorporated into your table setting. Breaking out a few pieces of the fine China or those vintage champagne glasses from your grandmother can be just the right touch to beautify any table.

Repurpose:  Reusing an old flower arrangement you already have with the right colors into simple mason jars gives a flirty but fresh look on any dining table.  Another favorite hack is to repurpose the jars from old used up candles.  Simply freeze the jar and remove the wax, then clean the jar and fill it with fresh flowers or holiday candy.

For this table styling project, the Original Sweethearts candy was used to fill a repurposed coral glass candle jar. Our favorite candles for repurposing are Sand and Fog, another women-owned business that believes in sustainability. These candles look and smell great!

Go Thrifting:  The thrift store is another great place to find vintage items that can add warmth to your table. Brass candlesticks, unique glassware, and delicate tea cups are just a few examples of what you might find. Not only will these items give your table a touch of elegance, but they'll also save you money and reduce waste.

Post Holiday Sales: Visit your local craft store to rummage through the post-holiday decor that you can use to bring your table to life. You may be able to pick up items like ribbon or festive garlands that still fit the color scheme at a major discount.

Get Crafty: One of the best ways to decorate your table is to get creative in what you can make yourself.  For Valentine’s Day, cutting out hearts from old grocery bags to decorate the table, hang from a chandelier or even use as place cards at each table setting, is sure to make your guest feel extra special.

The  table is the perfect place to bring together family, friends, and loved ones to build memories that will last a lifetime. This Valentine's Day, take the opportunity to celebrate your love and appreciation for each other while being conscious of the environment. With a little bit of creativity and a lot of passion,  you'll have a Valentine's Day table that your loved ones will never forget. Oh, and don’t forget the champagne!
